On 8 September, the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector (CIDS) and the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on cooperation and exchange of information. The objective of the LoI is to contribute to the establishment of a politically neutral and professional civil service system in Ukraine, in line with EU standards of public administration and in this way to increase the resistance of the system to the influence of corruption and to reduce the risks of corruption.
web_letter of intent_news 2CIDS is responsible for the implementation of the agreed project on ‘’Reducing the Corruption Risks in the HRM System in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine’’, aimed at increasing the quality of management and prevention of corruption risks in the Human Resources Management system. The LoI signed on 8 September opens for the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service providing CIDS with information and consultations that will facilitate the implementation of the bilateral project, including explanatory work and rendering information on civil service reform. CIDS will likewise provide the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service with information and consultations based on its own expertise on public management and the experience gained from the implementation of the bilateral project. This in order to contribute to successful implementation of Ukraine’s new «Law On Civil Service» in other ministries and central executive bodies of Ukraine once that law has been adopted in the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament).
CIDS’ project in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has a timeframe of four years (2015 –2018).
