On 18-20 May CIDS had pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence (MoD). The delegation included representatives from MoD, CIDS’s regional experts in Ukraine, and other relevant professionals from the field. During the joint workshop both sides took up issues in connection with Human Resources Management. The Ukrainian MoD spoke about challenges and ongoing and planned reform efforts in the area of HRM. Update on The new Ukrainian Law on Civil Service: What does it intend to achieve and what are the implications for line ministries such as the MoD? The workshop also discussed the role of the Ukrainian School of Senior Civil Service.
CIDS’ senior advisor and expert on public management, Svein Eriksen, talked about the system of HRM based on professionalism and integrity: What does it mean and why is it important? CIDS’s regional coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Damir Ahmetovic, spoke about CIDS’ assistance to HRM reforms in MoDs of countries of the Western Balkans.
