Partner – NATO’s Building Integrity team
The Building Integrity team at NATO HQ Brussels is one of CIDS’ closest partners. The BI team comprises personnel from NATO’s International Staff and serves as the executing agent and project manager for the BI programme. The team works together with NATO member states, partners, international organisations and representatives of civil society to develop a multi-year programme to promote awareness and understanding of corruption and its impact on the defence sector.
Education and training are an important part of the BI programme. The NATO BI Education and Training Plan from 2012 addresses capacity building for individuals and institutions as well as requirements for NATO led operations. Various BI courses are conducted at NATO and national institutions, and are open to both civilian and military personnel.
CIDS serves as Department Head for BI education and training, with a focus on individual education and training, and institution building. Responsibilities include translating BI requirements and related programmes into education and training objectives, modules and courses.
