PerChristensenWe are happy to announce that Per Christensen has been appointed new Director of the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector (CIDS). Mr Christensen has extensive experience from the Norwegian Civil Service and from various assignments in NATO.
Per Christensen has a background from the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, where he has worked in the Resources Department and the Department for Finance and Governance. From 1998 to 2002 he served as Resource Advisor to the Norwegian Delegation to NATO. He also represented Norway in the Investment Committee and in the Resource Planning and Policy Board. In addition to that, he has served as Chairman of the Agency Supervisory Board of the NATO Support and Procurement Organization (2012-2015).
“Corruption and unethical behaviour not only reduce our defence capabilities. It also undermine public trust in the defence sector – and in some cases the government as a whole. CIDS plays an important role in promoting integrity and good governance in the defence sector, both nationally and internationally. I am delighted to be joining the centre in promoting good practice and provide practical means in order to reduce the risk of corruption in the defence sector”, Per Christensen said.
Per Christensen will be taking over the post from Bård Knudsen, who has led the centre since its establishment in 2012.
